Chesapeake Bay Cooking with John Shields is
not only a fantastic cookbook, it was a public television series
as well! John traveled around the Chesapeake Bay, collected
family recipes and met colorful people, and invited them to cook
on his show. The result: Chesapeake Bay Cooking
with John Shields. Traveling by car, boat, and golf carts,
the crew of CBC shot everything on location around the Bay. They
set up camp in people's homes, restaurant kitchens and dining rooms,
and even private backyards. Why spend so much time and expense?
John says it best: "If you want to know the food of the Chesapeake
Bay region, you have to meet the people and see how they live."
