My mission has always been to educate people to respect and conserve our natural resources by promoting healthy, local, bay and body friendly food.
I have devoted my career and life to celebrating and protecting the Chesapeake region and our local food economy. Those themes are expressed throughout my many cookbooks and public TV cooking shows. My latest book, the New Chesapeake Kitchen is a mix of cooking, philosophy, lifestyle, and education, and is what guides my educational outreach projects.
John's newest book, The New Chesapeake Kitchen, celebrates John's decades of exploring and championing the Chesapeake region. This volume articulates his essential philosophy, as well as his commitment to, and love for the Chesapeake—its land and waters, its people, its history & its food traditions.
